People of all ages enjoy our friendly service and rides that are scheduled daily, weekly or monthly.

 

The Martin County Transit public bus transit system in Martin County has revised its expanded bus service hours on Friday 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. and Saturday 2:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. in the City of Fairmont, effective May 4, 2007. The Martin County Transit provides a safe, easy to use, and reliable transportation service for people of all ages in Martin County.

Calls received 24 hours ahead get priority service. Calls for same-day service are handled on a first come, first serve basis.

Rider's Guide

 
We are not a taxi and cannot guarantee instant service as we provide transportation to all residents of Martin County.

If you need to cancel a scheduled ride, please call at least two hours in advance. No shows only prevent the transit system from functioning as efficiently as possible and keep others from getting rides. Services may be discontinued after three consecutive no shows.

Riders should be ready and waiting approximately 15 minutes before and 15 minutes after their scheduled pickup time.

Please have fares ready as you board the bus.

Martin County Transit had the right to use their discretion to close early if it proves to be cost effective.

Martin County Transit is not responsible for lost items. Please check around your seat and make sure you have your belongings.

Special trips may require a minimum number of riders.

Our vehicles are handicap accessible.

Be visible to the driver when the vehicle arrives at your pickup location.

Practice good personal hygiene.

No smoking, eating or drinking will be allowed on the bus.

Please remain seated until the bus comes to a complete stop.

Always be considerate of others.

Operating or tampering with equipment while on board the vehicle is prohibited.

Riders who engage in physical abuse or cause physical injury to another rider or passenger may be subject to immediate and permanent suspension and possible criminal prosecution.

Riders who violate these rules of conduct are subject to penalties up to and including service suspension.

 

Driver Responsibilities

 
Drivers are responsible for curb-to-curb pick-up and drop-off only. Passengers seeking further assistance must arrange for their own attendant or companion or a higher cost per ride may be charged by Martin County Transit.

Drivers are not responsible for carrying packages but  may assist passengers if they choose to do so.

Drivers have the right to refuse transit services to passengers who are under the influence of drugs or alcohol and who become disruptive or are a threat to others or themselves.

If it is necessary to close due to inclement weather, it will be announced on KFMC/KSUM radio.
