PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

The Martin County Planning Commission/Board of Adjustment will be conducting a public hearing on May 22, 2018 at 5:30 p.m. The hearing will be held in the Martin County Commissioners Room, located on the first floor of the Courthouse, 201 Lake Avenue – Fairmont, MN. The following item will be on the agenda:

Variance Request from Daniel & Lynn Petrowiak within Section 17 of Westford Township.   Mr. & Mrs. Petrowiak are proposing to construct an attached, 2-stall garage onto the west side of their existing house that will be closer than the required setback from the center line of the road in an “A” Agricultural District. The Martin County Zoning Ordinance requires a 200 foot setback from the centerline of any public right-of-way for a new building site effective February 17, 2004 and one hundred and thirty (130) feet from the centerline of any public right-of-way for existing building sites constructed before February 17, 2004. Existing building sites cannot further encroach closer than the nearest present building from the centerline of the road provided greater than 130 feet from the centerline in an “A” Agricultural District.

Any persons interested in this public hearing are urged to attend the Planning Commission/Board of Adjustment meeting.
