PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

The Martin County Planning Commission/Board of Adjustment will be conducting a public hearing on November 26, 2019 at 5:30 p.m. The hearing will be held in the Martin County Commissioners Room, located on the first floor of the Courthouse, 201 Lake Avenue – Fairmont, MN. The following items will be on the agenda:

Re-Zone Request from Mike Bettin, applicant and Buffalo Lake Leasing, property owner within Section 32 of Rutland Township. Mr. Bettin is proposing to re-zone that portion of the property that is zoned as “A” Agricultural District to “I” Industrial District for the purpose of operating any concrete block plant or any ready mix plant.

Variance Request from Travis & Angela Leiding within Section 18 of Lake Belt Township. The Leidings are proposing to build a deck onto their existing home encroaching closer than the required setback from the centerline of the public right-of-way in an “A” Agricultural District. The Martin County Zoning Ordinance requires a 200 foot setback from the centerline of any public right-of-way for a new building site effective February 17, 2004 and one hundred and thirty (130) feet from the centerline of any public right-of-way for existing building sites constructed before February 17, 2004. Existing building sites cannot further encroach closer than the nearest present building from the centerline of the road provided greater than 130 feet from the centerline in an “A” Agricultural District.

Variance Request from Tammy Grathwohl and Troy Card within Section 20 of Silver Lake Township.Ms. Grathwohl and Mr. Card are proposing to build a house/patio with an attached garage and a storage shed encroaching closer than the minimum required setback from the Ordinary High Water Level on North Silver Lake and closer than the required setback to the Road Right-of-Way in an “SL-2” Shoreland Residential Recreational District. The Martin County Zoning Ordinance requires a minimum setback of 150 feet from a lake/protected water and 50 feet from the road right-of-way for any federal, state, and county road in an “SL-2” Shoreland Residential Recreational District.
