PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

The Martin County Planning Commission/Board of Adjustment will be conducting a public hearing on October 23, 2018 at 5:30 p.m. The hearing will be held in the Martin County Commissioner’s Room, located on the first floor of the Courthouse, 201 Lake Avenue – Fairmont, MN. The following items will be on the agenda:

Conditional Use Permit Request from Avangrid Renewables, (Chambers Family Farm, LLC, owner), within Section 5 of Jay Township. Avangrid Renewables would like to construct a temporary meteorological tower in an “A” Agricultural District. The Martin County Zoning Ordinance/Martin County Renewable Energy Ordinance requires a Conditional Use Permit in an “A” Agricultural District for any essential structures/meteorological towers.

Variance Request from Jon Eversman within Section 3 of Tenhassen Township. Mr. Eversman is proposing to install six (6) Dual-Axis Trackers Solar PV System that will be closer than the required setback from the center line of the road in an “A” Agricultural District. The Martin County Zoning Ordinance requires a 200 foot setback from the centerline of any public right-of-way for a new building site effective February 17, 2004 and one hundred and thirty (130) feet from the centerline of any public right-of-way for existing building sites constructed before February 17, 2004. Existing building sites cannot further encroach closer than the nearest present building from the centerline of the road provided greater than 130 feet from the centerline in an “A” Agricultural District.
