PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

The Martin County Planning Commission/Board of Adjustment will be conducting a public hearing on August 27, 2019 at 5:30 p.m. The hearing will be held in the Martin County Commissioners Room, located on the first floor of the Courthouse, 201 Lake Avenue – Fairmont, MN. The following items will be on the agenda:

Variance Request from Dustyn & Leah Hartung within Section 23 of Fraser Township.
The Hartungs are proposing the construction of a permanent loading chute for swine to be attached to an existing total confinement hog barn in an “A” Agricultural District which will be closer to the centerline of the public right-of-way. The Martin County Zoning Ordinance requires a 200 foot setback from the centerline of any public right-of-way for a new building site effective February 17, 2004 and one hundred and thirty (130) feet from the centerline of any public right-of-way for existing building sites constructed before February 17, 2004. Existing building sites cannot further encroach closer than the nearest present building from the centerline of the road provided greater than 130 feet from the centerline in an “A” Agricultural District.

Variance Request from Mark Zehms within Section 12 of Jay Township. The Zehms are proposing to construct a pole shed closer than the minimum required setback from the West side yard setback on property located in an “A” Agricultural District. The Martin County Zoning Ordinance requires a side yard setback of not less than thirty (30) feet in an “A” Agricultural District.

Variance Request from the East Chain Township within Section 7 of East Chain Township. East Chain Township is proposing to construct a township hall/community building that will be closer than the minimum required setback from the rear setback on property located in an “R-1” Single Family Residential District. The Martin County Zoning Ordinance requires a rear yard setback of not less than thirty (30) feet in an “R-1” Single Family Residential District.

Variance Request from Kevin Thate & Vanessa Kettner within Section 4 of Manyaska Township. Mr. Thate and Ms. Kettner are proposing construction of a storage building/garage that will be closer than the minimum required setback from the East side yard setback on property located by Fox Lake in an “SL-2” Shoreland Residential Recreational District. The Martin County Ordinance requires a minimum setback of 30 feet from the side yard property line in an “SL-2” Shoreland Residential Recreational District.
