PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

The Martin County Planning Commission/Board of Adjustment will be conducting a public hearing on July 23, 2019 at 5:30 p.m. The hearing will be held in the Martin County Commissioners Room, located on the first floor of the Courthouse, 201 Lake Avenue – Fairmont, MN. The following items will be on the agenda:

Variance Request from Ron Fowler within Section 33 of Westford Township.

Ron Fowler is proposing the construction of a new swine finishing confinement barn in an “A” Agricultural District which will be closer to a neighboring dwelling than the minimum required setback set forth in the Martin County Feedlot Ordinance. The Martin County Feedlot Ordinance requires a new animal feedlot (permitted after July 1, 1995) shall not be located within 1,320 feet (one-quarter mile) of a dwelling other than the operator’s or any business or industrial district as defined in this Ordinance and on the Zoning District Map.

Preliminary Sketch Plan from Joseph Sanders within Section 32 of Silver Lake Township. Mr. Sanders is proposing a preliminary sketch plan for a six lot subdivision in an “SL-2” Residential Recreational District. The Martin County Subdivision Ordinance requires a preliminary sketch plan before the preliminary plat submittal.

Variance Request from Dave & Jean Lundquist within Section 4 of Manyaska Township. The Lundquists are proposing to place a storage shed onto their property which will be closer than the minimum required setback from the South side yard setback on property located on Fox Lake in an “SL-2” Shoreland Residential Recreational District. The Martin County Ordinance requires a minimum setback of 30 feet from the side yard property line in an “SL-2” Shoreland Residential Recreational District.

Variance Request from Kevin & Nora Kahler within Section 7 of Silver Lake Township. The Kahlers are proposing to construct a storage addition onto an existing shop building which will be closer than the minimum required setback from the South side yard setback on property located on Wilmert Lake in an “SL-1” Shoreland Special Protection District. The Martin County Ordinance requires a minimum setback of 40 feet from the side yard property line in an “SL-1” Shoreland Special Protection District.
