PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

The Martin County Planning Commission/Board of Adjustment will be conducting a public hearing on June 25, 2019 at 5:30 p.m. The hearing will be held in the Martin County Commissioners Room, located on the first floor of the Courthouse, 201 Lake Avenue – Fairmont, MN. The following items will be on the agenda:

Variance Request from Nancy & Wayne Sommer within Section 29 of Silver Lake Township. The Sommers are proposing to remove an existing deck on the West side of the house and replace it with a larger deck and stairs. The deck will be closer than the minimum required setback from the Ordinary High Water Level on South Silver Lake in an “SL-2” Shoreland Residential Recreational District. The Martin County Ordinance requires a minimum setback of 100 feet from a lake/protected water in an “SL-2” Shoreland Residential Recreational District.

Variance Request from Melissa & Terry Campbell within Section 6 of Manyaska Township. The Campbells are proposing to remove an existing deck on the South side of the house and replace it with a larger covered deck. The deck will be closer than the minimum required setback from the East side yard setback on property located on Fox Lake in an “SL-2” Shoreland Residential Recreational District. The Martin County Ordinance requires a minimum setback of 30 feet from the side yard property line in an “SL-2” Shoreland Residential Recreational District.

Variance Request from Joanne & Clair Schmidt, Jr. within Section 34 of Lake Belt Township. The Schmidts are proposing to construct a solar system panel array (38.5 kw) that will be closer than the minimum required setback from the South side yard setback in an “A” Agricultural District. The Martin County Zoning Ordinance requires a side yard setback of not less than thirty (30) feet.

Variance Request from Joanne & Clair Schmidt, Jr. within Section 27 of Lake Belt Township. The Schmidts are proposing to construct a solar system panel array (38.5 kw) that will be closer than the minimum required setback from the North side yard setback in an “A” Agricultural District. The Martin County Zoning Ordinance requires a side yard setback of not less than thirty (30) feet.
