PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

Planning Commission/Board of Adjustment

September 27, 2022

 

The Martin County Planning Commission/Board of Adjustment will be conducting a public hearing on September 27, 2022 at 5:30 p.m.  The hearing will be held in the Martin County Commissioners Room, located on the first floor of the Courthouse, 201 Lake Avenue – Fairmont, MN.  The following items will be on the agenda:

 

Variance Request from Mark Nordquist within Section 14 of Tenhassen TownshipMr. Nordquist is proposing to construct a deck to replace an existing deck encroaching closer than the minimum required setback from the centerline of the public right-of-way in an “A” Agricultural District. The Martin County Zoning Ordinance requires a 200-foot setback from the centerline of any public right-of-way for a new building site effective February 17, 2004 and one hundred and thirty (130) feet from the centerline of any public right-of-way for existing building sites constructed before February 17, 2004. Existing building sites cannot further encroach closer than the nearest present building from the centerline of the road provided greater than 130 feet from the centerline in an “A” Agricultural District.

 

Variance Request from Arvid & Sheryl Colby within Section 36 of Rutland Township

Mr. & Mrs. Colby are proposing to construct an addition onto an existing house encroaching closer than the minimum required setback from the centerline of the public right-of-way in an “A” Agricultural District. The Martin County Zoning Ordinance requires a 200-foot setback from the centerline of any public right-of-way for a new building site effective February 17, 2004 and one hundred and thirty (130) feet from the centerline of any public right-of-way for existing building sites constructed before February 17, 2004. Existing building sites cannot further encroach closer than the nearest present building from the centerline of the road provided greater than 130 feet from the centerline in an “A” Agricultural District.

 

Variance Request from Timothy & Michelle Mailahn within Section 7 of Silver Lake Township

Mr. & Mrs. Mailahn are proposing to construct two decks onto an existing house encroaching closer than the minimum required setback from the ordinary highwater level on Wilmert Lake in an “SL-1” Special Protection District. The Martin County Zoning Ordinance requires a minimum setback of 200 feet from the ordinary highwater level in an “SL-1” Special Protection District.

 

Variance Request from Timothy & Michelle Mailahn within Section 7 of Silver Lake Township

Mr. & Mrs. Mailahn are proposing to construct a shed encroaching closer than the minimum required setback from the ordinary highwater level on Wilmert Lake in an “SL-1” Special Protection District. The Martin County Zoning Ordinance requires a minimum setback of 200 feet from the ordinary highwater level in an “SL-1” Special Protection District.
