PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
Planning Commission/Board of Adjustment
May 23, 2023
The Martin County Planning Commission/Board of Adjustment will be conducting a public hearing on May 23, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. The hearing will be held in the Martin County Commissioners Room, located on the first floor of the Courthouse, 201 Lake Avenue – Fairmont, MN. The following items will be on the agenda:
Conditional Use Permit request from MB Realty LLC (Mike Bettin), applicant and property owner, within Section 28 of Fairmont Township. Mr. Bettin is proposing to operate a commercial self-storage facility, semi-trailer parking associated with Bettin Trucking, and aggregate storage also associated with Bettin Trucking in an “HB” Highway Business District. The Martin County Zoning Ordinance requires a Conditional Use Permit in an “HB” Highway Business District for any warehousing operation/trucking establishment.

Variance request from Michael & Angela Dietz within Section 12 of Fairmont Township. Mr. & Mrs. Dietz are proposing to construct a garage and a front-entry landing/steps onto an existing house encroaching closer than the minimum required setbacks from the East sideyard setback and from the ordinary high-water level on Lake Imogene in an “SL-2” Shoreland Residential Recreational District. The Martin County Zoning Ordinance requires a minimum of 30 feet from the sideyard setback and 150 feet from the ordinary high-water level in an “SL-2” Shoreland Residential Recreational District.
